snapshots from a small studio april 8, 2026

what’s on the paint table today?

an eight-armed cutie, lovingly attached to an underwater dweller
a shorebird with their catch of the day
a shark that won’t let anything keep them down
(come on, just look at those pearly whites)
a walking fish
a phantom ship

more painting is still in need, eyes uncleaned, varnish is another thing

it’ll all get done eventually
in the meantime,
very much enjoying the company

Jeff & Dale Ocasio

Jeff & Dale Ocasio collaborate on building characters and small worlds that live somewhere between folk art and storybooks. Sculpting with masking tape over wire and reclaimed objects is where their artwork begins.

Each sculpture is encased with layers of acid‐free glue, color is added with more layers of acrylics, mixed media and protected with matte varnish. Many of their sculptures are featured in their own original digital illustrations.
