musings of an atomic bazaar

It’s been over a couple of months, but we are still talking about how much fun we had at the Atomic Holiday Bazaar in Sarasota. While it was our first time there, the show has a long history, and we learned from many of the other vendors that it is a very cherished event for them and there was a “homecoming” feeling throughout the weekend.

They have a flickr account where they post hundreds of photos each year for all to browse, photographed by Brian J. Boyd (instagram @brianjboyd.) Here a just few with us and our table. Take a look and see why we are looking forward to doing it again next year …

Before the event, we wrote about it and shared images of the new art we created especially for the bazaar, you can see it here over on our substack.

Jeff & Dale Ocasio

Jeff & Dale Ocasio collaborate on building characters and small worlds that live somewhere between folk art and storybooks. Sculpting with masking tape over wire and reclaimed objects is where their artwork begins.

Each sculpture is encased with layers of acid‐free glue, color is added with more layers of acrylics, mixed media and protected with matte varnish. Many of their sculptures are featured in their own original digital illustrations.
